Public Works
The Diamond Pier® “E” series piers – DP-75E, DP-100E, and DP-200E - are engineered, low impact foundations for use in public projects such as boardwalks, pavilions, overlooks, and bridges. They are most commonly used in wetland, tidal, sensitive or difficult access sites, and, based on site specific soils and loading information provided by the customer, they provide significant compression, uplift and lateral load capacities. They are sold through design and supply companies specializing in public bids, or direct through the Sales and Engineering Department at Pin Foundations, Inc.
The Piers use a variety of Pin lengths specific to the strength of the supporting material and project requirements, such as pedestrian or vehicle loadings, uplift conditions, and frost or expansive soils. An engineer’s stamp of Pier capacities is provided for most states in the US, when proper soils information from a local licensed geotech is submitted by the customer, with complete project information. The foundation system is designed to work in uniform or layered sands, silts and clays, but is not intended for deep peats, steep slopes, sites with buried debris, unconsolidated fill or rock.
Installation is simple, and can be accomplished by general contractors, public works crews or volunteer groups, without special training or vendor supervision. The Piers have a range of available embedded anchor bolt configurations to attach to post or beam brackets, and there are also 4-bolt models, allowing for steel plate or I-beam connections or column leveling.
